In a 7-11 (or similar convenience store).
It was a cold snowy evening, and I had just gotten off the bus and gone into the store on my way home from somewhere, carrying my guitar. Maybe it was cuz I had the guitar that the clerk asked me if I heard the news -- John Lennon had been shot. I went home and spent the night listening to reports on the radio. I don't think it was known that he was dead yet.
